I couldn't get any pictures of Olivia without candy in her hands! Tearing out of her bedroom Sunday morning to see what the Easter Bunny had brought! The Easter Bunny brought lots of fun things and of course lots of candy (Olivia's favorite thing in the world)!
Last Friday afternoon we got in the car and headed down to Spring City for Pattie and Alvin's first annual Easter Egg Hunt. I say first annual, but we've been having the Easter Egg Hunt since I was Olivia's age, its just been grown-ups wandering around in the yard looking for eggs for the past 20 years! The girls had an absolute blast hunting for eggs and coloring them. I think their favorite part was the bath at the end of the day to get all the egg dye off and Pattie reading them an Easter story while they were in the tub!
This past weekend Michael and I took Olivia to the concert of her dreams. Those of you who know her know that she is a HUGE Doodlebops fan, so thanks to Titi & Poppy's awesome Christmas gift, we headed to Nashville this past weekend for the show. Let me start out by saying that we gave her a "ticket" for the show at Christmastime that she has been dragging around the house since then, you should have seen it the day of the concert. Thursday we were able to go to a Meet & Greet at Opry Mills Mall, which she loved. A couple of revelations that day though, Moe, formally her favorite Doodlebop, is a BOY. Most of you probably knew that already, but apparently my daughter did not. And she did not like it. Rooney, on the other hand, was a real charmer. He called her sweetheart, told her she was pretty and that he liked her bow.
We had great seats on the second row for the show, but when we got there they told us we could sit on the floor in front of the stage. My child, who is usually a bit on the shy side, completely let loose. She danced like a crazy person. She was flailing around, bumping into people, falling on the ground, it was like a little miniature mosh pit. And she fit right in. She would dance wildly through each song and then fling herself down in Michael's lap to catch her breath between songs. I think in the picture of her dancing, is to the "Booby Bird" song which she believed was just for her since she had a bird on her outfit!
It was a great show and I would recommend going to anyone who has a Doodlebop fan at home. Thanks again to TiTi & Poppy! It wore my little angel so much she even slept until 9 the next morning!
Getting ready to go into the concert. Daddy trying on the DeeDee hair, looks pretty good I think! Breaking it down to some of her favorite tunes. I have a million pictures of her making crazy facial expressions like this one! Chilling out afterwards in her first rock concert tee.
Last week Olivia and I went to the circus with her friends Emma Grace and Lexy. As you can see, it was impossible to get any good pics inside there, so I gave up. The circus was nowhere near as grand as I remember it being from my own childhood, but Olivia seemed to really enjoy it. And of course after me spending $36 on cotton candy and a snow cone, the one thing she really ate was Lexy's popcorn! Thanks for sharing!
This morning I had another emotional day as a first-time mom--taking Olivia for registration at her preschool that she doesn't even start until August. She was so excited, insisted on picking out her own outfit for the first time ever. The first picture is of her putting on her shoes like such a big girl! When we got there, she told me to go bye-byes because she was going to class!
I have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for eight years now. We have lived most of that time in Knoxville and have really grown to love it. We can't imagine calling anywhere else our home. In 2005, we were lucky enough to become the parents of our precious Olivia Kate and welcomed our second daughter, Ana Blair in the fall of 2008. And of course, who could forget our sweet (but crazy) dog, Mollie!
